Summer's Winding Down, But We're Not Slowing Down
There's a certain smell in the air this time of year — part campfire smoke still lingering, part freshly sharpened pencils waiting in a backpack somewhere. Summer is packing its bags, the kids are eyeing their new shoes, and here at Uniquely Ys, that means one thing: market season is in full swing, and so is our print shop.
While everyone else is squeezing the last few weeks out of patio season, we're still setting up our tent, laying out our samples, and chatting with folks in Arnprior and beyond about all the ways we can put their ideas onto something they'll actually use. If you've stopped by our table this summer, you've probably seen us in action — because for us, a market isn't just a spot to sell finished product. It's our showroom.
Why We Still Show Up
We could just post pretty photos online and call it a day. But there's something different about watching someone pick up a golf ball, turn it over in their hand, and realize their initials or their favourite quote are printed right onto it — not on a sticker, not laminated on top, but actually part of the ball itself. That reaction is the whole reason we haul the tent out weekend after weekend. It's the best way to show what "custom" really means when it's done right, in-house, by us.
What We're Showing Off Right Now
Keepsake Boxes — These little wooden boxes have become one of our favourite canvases. Whether it's a name, a date, or a woodland scene like the one we designed this year, direct printing means the design isn't going anywhere. It's not a decal. It's not going to fade after one summer sitting on a windowsill. It's printed right into the piece.
Golf Balls — Yes, really. UV printing lets us put logos, initials, or a good-natured jab at your golf buddy directly onto the ball. It's a small thing that gets a big reaction at the table every single time.
Back-to-School Shirts — This is where DTF printing really shines. Kids want something that actually feels like theirs — not a generic design pulled off a shelf. We can print unique, one-off graphics for a shirt, a hoodie, or a backpack patch, so when they walk into that first day of school, they're wearing something nobody else has. Parents love it because it holds up in the wash. Kids love it because it's exactly what they wanted.
Wall Clocks — A newer favourite for us this season. A fun, functional piece that can hold a family photo, a hometown map, or whatever design tells your story — something a little different to dress up a wall at home or make a thoughtful gift.
